Setting up a Wordpress site for your Business
Posted by Bellrock Brad on March 8, 2008Here is a little philosophy and information on what we do when we set up a new Wordpress blog for a business. First, we do some basic keyword research. We will share this information and use it to help us recommend a domain if the business does not have one already. Also, this can offer some basic data for further marketing efforts.
Then we take a look at the type of business we are working for and proceed to pick out a wordpress theme with a clean, functional look. Then we install the site with the theme and ask the business to review the look and feel.
After the new site is up and available we deliver a user Id and password for the business to start working on the site. We recommend that we only give the business author rights to start. As an author the business can make postings and pages as they need to on their site, without getting into overall site structure and programing changes. Entering an "About" page is one of the first pages we recommend the business to work on. This is a good way for the business to start learning how to use their new Wordpress site. The business can take over complete administration rights for the site at any time after they request it.
No Geek Required !
We will offer some basic instruction and handholding to help the business with questions on how to get started.
